Finally back home! Life is sooo busy with another baby! For me i'm busy with feeding, expressing and entertaining Isaiah..
Hardly able to sit down or lie down as i have to play with Isaiah, check on Ezekiel and do whatever i need to do. Also cuz after 4 days of lying down i just can't stay still!
Update on my delivery birth story!
3rd June
After my last post, i was getting ready to be pushed in the operation theatre. Starting to feel nervous as i am all alone .. In fact i feel i handle my fear better when i'm alone ..
OT staff came to push me into the operation theatre and i start to feel scared on the way there. The feeling of knowing that u will be cut up and the pain that will be experiencing after that is terrible!
After they settle me in the OT i got to wait for Dr woo for about 15 - 20 mins. Operation will start at 9.30am. That 15-20 mins wait is sooooo long as i'm feeling super nervous and scared!
Soon Dr Woo walked in and asked if i wanted epidural instead as is much safer. I start to consider if i should take epidural but i'm really very afraid that the pain i experience when i deliver Isaiah ..
Soon anesthetist came and i told her about my bronchitis cough and asthmatic cough and after she listen to my lungs she decided to give me epidural instead of GA.
This moment i start to ask the OT staff to call hubby! And must be quick as they start the epidural already.
Was amazed by the skill of the anesthetist as there is not much pain when she is doing it. Just a tiny pricking pain..
After awhile the operation starts .. I felt very tired and sleepy and hubby manage to come in at the right time.
Very right time cause he actually saw my tummy being open up! The direction he comes from is where i'm facing him. So he saw my tummy first and not my head first. Meaning he got to walk past me!
Maybe they thought it was a GA operation so this is not taken into consideration as when i deliver Isaiah, they did instruct my hb where to come in from and where is can access to.
But this time round was different. The place he was sitting at is just beside Dr woo who is cutting me! LOL.
He was quite shocked by the scene especially when Dr Woo pull Ezekiel out. He said the strength used was very scary. And he took some time to recover from the shock as he was so unprepared to go into the OT.
Finally baby Ezekiel is out at 9.56am. Weighing 2.91kg height 51cm.
After Ezekiel and hubby went back to the nursery, i went in and out of my sleep for the last part of the operation.
Was wheeled back to the ward and start shivering like crazy for whole 2 hours!
Can't sleep well due to the shivering ... After 2 hours, epidural wear off and i don't feel the pain of the wound like when i had Isaiah.
Throughout the day my pain was manageable and i wasn't on any painkiller except the left over epidural.
Ezekiel latch on pretty well and it was a breeze for my day 1.
My part 1 of the fear finally is over... The csect process...
4th June
Woke up in the morning and tried to sit up to eat my breakfast. Amazingly no pain!!
I still remember i couldn't even sit up last time.
Part 2 fear - Removing urine bag & stand up to walk!
Okay seriously i hate this! During 1st csect i am in really pain throughout my stay and removing urine bag is so damn painful!
This is the thing i'm so scared of even before delivery.
I'm lucky enough to have a nice and gentle nurse ho remove it for me and is painful but i feel safe in her hands as she will try to make the pain lesser and make me feel more comfortable.
Alot of encouragement from her too. After removing it she clean and change me and i'm ready to stand up to walk!!
I waited for hb to come as i didn't dare to stand up on my own ..
But the time will still come and i got to stand up and walk.. Again, the pain was bearable and walking to the toilet is not very difficult. I think the pain of first csect totally freaked me out. But it makes me stronger too as my pain tolerance is much higher this time.
Luckily everything went smoothly for day 2.
And Crystal came to visit me too! With a sunflower which is very sweet of her to do that!
Didn't manage to drink the coke she smuggle in for me but i do appreciate it! LOL.
5th June
Woke up at 7am. Wanted to bf Ezekiel as i felt my breast is quite full! But they have to change the bedsheet first and let PD see him.
So i stand up and walked to the toilet. Amazingly i can walk with very very little pain so i decide to walk to the nursery to see Ezekiel. But too bad the window is closed but i manage to take a short walk for some fresh air.
Breast starts to feel engorge in the middle of the night and by afternoon is as hard as a rock .. After bearing it for the whole day i finally asked the nurse to give me some cold cabbage as i'm sure Ezekiel is feeding well and contented and i'm having over supply so i requested for it.
In 5 mins the LC popped by and check on me and decided to let me have one round of cold cabbage and asked me to express max of 5 mins to relieve the pain after feeding. But never fails to feed every 3 hour. But Ezekiel is sleeping for sooo many hours during my engorging day when first 2 days he wake up on the dot every 3 hours!!
My day ended with pain and engorgement and i'm taking pain killer cuz of my pain in breast and not tummy! how irony!
Not forgetting i keep nagging at hubby that i wants to stop this bfing thing cause is the most painful part. Of course i am only trying to rant and relieve some stress as i am hanging on now to give him bottle till we go back home. At least first 4 days he can learn his latch properly before introducing bottle.
That is my fear part 3!!
6th June
Is my discharge day! Breast felt much softer and Ezekiel can latch better on softer breast too.
Everything was fine until Dr Simon Ng came and told me Ezekiel is having jaundice. So we waited for his results. During that time i was so worried that Ezekiel can't go home with me. Meaning i will have to continue my stay or go back home and leave him there for the photo therapy. So it also means that i got to give him bottle and it will be all feedings as i'm not there! I kept praying that God will lower his jaundice level and he will be able to go home with me... This baby is very blessed! His result came out and is 9. If hits 10 he got to stay. Praise God!
Quickly settled the discharge thing and we left the hospital. Very sad!! The nursery lost Ezekiel little prince mitten!! I feel like screaming at them! Is NEW and mitten don't cost very cheap lor!! And most importantly i love that mitten. If i know i should have brought those hands down mitten to the hospital. They just replace with the mount alvernia mitten without apologizing -_-"!!
Enjoy the pics!
Please go to my FB album to see Ezekiel birth pics as my Internet connection really sucks and it takes years to upload them!
